It has been more than 2 yrs since @maartjeborst, H It has been more than 2 yrs since @maartjeborst, Hèlen Sturm (@depeerdegaerdt) and I got together. We embarked on a journey to find the most delightful plant-based nectar that radiates a nurturing message of support to humans and non-humans.

Together, we explored @happiesthealthyfarm; a place blessed by harmonious alliance. After listening to the wild creatures and tasting the fruits and herbs of the orchard, our search was complete and it was here that @floralnectarforhoneys was born; a honey-like brew made from apples, pears, beetsugar and medicinal plants, inspired by the seasons & in service of pollinators and the Earth. Thanks to entrepreneur @joost_verbakel and writer @mariaindjeian, we were able to put this finding into a beautiful form.

Floral Nectar comes in five different concoctions. Each enriched with distinct medicinal plants, four align with the seasons, and one captures all. It is a hand-made product that gently helps restore people’s immune systems and enrich their taste buds.

Keeping our oath to give back to the Earth, we have mindfully chosen the ingredients for this nectar. The highest quality medicinal plants we use also offer pollinators a feast for their journey across the fields, and a large part of the plants on land are reserved for its wild, roaming creatures.

We believe that only through the act of reciprocity the regeneration of our planet can truly happen; in a way that we and the beings we share this planet with are supported. How exactly is a bigger and more complex exploration, but we show up.

So for now, how do we give back? By letting the land rest, nourishing the soil with plant-based goodness, offering sustenance for the winged creatures and a safe haven to second chance animals. Honey is the food of the honey bee and is not ours to take. Therefore we hope to contribute with this delicious sweetness to the important story of bio-diversity, which sees all creatures as an important part of a brilliant, intelligent, and living planet. A planet that gives us so much. Let us honour and celebrate her while caring for her in a harmonious way.

@the_pollinators thank you for your support! 💚✨️🙏🏼
A month ago Jonathan and I moved from our sustaina A month ago Jonathan and I moved from our sustainable urban home in Amsterdam to a typical 'Drents' farmhouse with a big garden in the countryside. We have now settled in somewhat and are enjoying all the animals and plants that surround us. It is a hive of activity, something that is not due to people, as there are not many here.

The land is surrounded by oak trees, birches, willows, juneberries and hawthorns. Medicinal herbs are plentiful. The species of caterpillars, insects and pollinators are innumerable and many unknown to me. Birds orchestrate the most beautiful music amidst the rustling of leaves complemented by the cosy quacking of frogs in our natural pond. Just recently I was holding young owls in my hand. A few days ago I was amazed by big holes in the grass created by the badger (who I got to see that night through our bedroom window). Every time the sun goes down, we see a deer or more somewhere around us and if we are not careful, the hares run off with our new fruit plants ;-).

We are deeply impressed and touched by all this beauty, to say the least. We chuckle with happiness every day, feel like a small part of the big world that bursts with life in full splendour here and we look forward to a new sustainable renovation next year. Because with our ecological wishes, we will also make this little farmhouse future-proof and home-friendly again.

In the past month, I have learned more from the co-creative life that resides in nature than I have in the city in recent years. I am grateful for the city, don't get me wrong. There, I could make a grateful contribution to that dreamed-of vegan future, and here I wish to further develop my work as a vegan herbalist, photographer and writer. Although right now I have not picked up any of those things and we are just experiencing a dream that has come true.

I will therefor deepen my next herbal medicine workshop @depeerdegaerdt June 26 since new inspiration is flowing 🥰. For more info check out link in bio.

NATURAL MEDICINE FOR HUMANS AND ANIMALS 🌿 Afte NATURAL MEDICINE FOR HUMANS AND ANIMALS 🌿

After a successful first time, I am grateful and happy that the course ‘natural medicine for humans & animals’ will be returning to @depeerdegaerdt this year in September 2022.

Almost 2 years ago, Helen from the estate invited me to come and visit and get to know the diversity of creatures that live there – plants and animals. Helen asked if I could provide herbal support for the second-chance animals that call this land home.

Around that time, I had just launched my Herbal Hotline and through Helen’s request, my human clientele quickly expanded to include all kinds of customers such as pigs, horses, ducks, chickens, dogs, rabbits, geese, etc. Up until then my focus had been on plant medicines for humans (and dogs) and now I had the honour and challenge of putting together herbal protocols for other creatures of the animal queendom. It was a dream come true. I always wanted to do more for animals in need and always had so much faith in our green allies and nature. Now I had the chance to combine this desire and faith.

Meanwhile, 2 years have passed and I am grateful for the very diverse clientele that has arisen as a result. Plants do not discriminate. Of course, all bodies are different, as are all personalities, but beneath all this lies similarity. The English word similar comes from the Latin word sem which means ‘as one’. One that becomes many, as the Taoists say. We are all made of stardust is not just a romantic expression. Tapping into that wisdom with the plants by our side can bring healing to many. And that is why I am pleased and grateful to announce this wonderful introductory course in ‘Natural medicine for humans and animals’.

The Dutch course consists of a day of herbal medicine for humans given by me and a day of natural medicine for animals given by Margriet Cremers – Dudok van Heel of veterinary natural medicine knowledge center De Silverlinde. Of course, both days will be provided with delicious vegan snacks and lunch.

PS: De Peerdegaerdt is a vegan estate. Animals are rescued and taken care of here to enjoy the rest of their lives in peace.
HERBAL MEDICINE WORKSHOP 🍃 I am honoured and e HERBAL MEDICINE WORKSHOP 🍃

I am honoured and excited that the herbal medicine session The Plant Pharmacy will be returning @depeerdegaerdt this year on June 26.

A large part of this session consists of theory and context. The question: what is herbal medicine will be answered in detail. I will cover various topics, such as the origin of herbal medicine, a holistic view on health, and various natural healing systems (from TCM to Ayurveda and Homeopathy). In addition, I will talk about the relationship between illness and the state of the world, the signature of all things, sensory awareness, intuition and how to train it, and various herbal preparations.

Principles such as reciprocity, the Native-American Honorable Harvest, and working together with and for Mother Earth will also be discussed. The theme of the day is how plants play a fundamental role in our existence. Without them, we cannot live. Plants transcend all human concepts.

This session is a call to put the plant back in the spotlight she deserves. As a green hero who breathes, nourishes, and heals humankind. It is a call to enter into individual relationships with members of the plant realm. Because from that relationship the space is created to get to know a plant and her medicinal potential in depth. We learn not what a plant can do for us, but who they are.

The day includes delicious herbal tea, vegan cake by De Peerdegaerdt, the making of a tincture and of course being present on this magical and delicious piece of land (check out @happiesthealthyfarm for impression). Hope to see you there!

She listened carefully and wrote some things on pa She listened carefully and wrote some things on paper. I remembered the warm feeling I had sharing my dreams and longings with her. We had such a lovely, long conversation while sipping on herbal tea. I also remember thinking does this make sense, did I share about my work chronologically enough and in a language that others will understand, is this something she can work with?

A few weeks later she send me the article. While I read it tears welled up. She had managed to put it all in there. My journey with Jonathan from our city-life to our new cottage in nature, becoming caretakers of a piece of green, forming friendships with members of the plant and animal queendom, herbal teas and my dear work for @depeerdegaerdt. It was all there, in such a lovely read and including some magical and beautiful images of the home we will be leaving soon. Our dear sustainable home in Amsterdam where we have lived with so much gratitude. It has been our green safe haven while dreaming of a life in nature. It has been the place where Mr. Pooh crossed the rainbow bridge. Where I made friends with plants. Where Jonathan and I said yes to a life together. Where I said goodbye to The Dutch Weed Burger and to my extraordinary teacher Lili. Where my heart broke a thousand times only to learn it was actually expanding. How I love this place and how I long for the new chapter that awaits us.

While this interview appears in @happinez Jonathan and I are freshening up our hopefully forever home. A symbolic confluence of things.

@albertinevandenbrink @dvrieling @eveline.helmink @mirjam.bleeker.photography @frankvisserijm how I loved working with you on this and thank you so much for putting my story so eloquently and beautifully into words and images!

MAGICAL MR POOH'S: WEED POWER After the success o MAGICAL MR POOH'S: WEED POWER

After the success of the first Magical Mr. Pooh's vitality biscuit, the Tony & Lu team was eager to develop the next variant. So I dove back into my herbal studio and created a delicious, mineral-rich composition. After several successful tastings with our furry customers, it is with great pleasure that we can launch the second Magical Mr. Pooh's; the Weed Power biscuit.

This Weed Power biscuit is enriched with dandelion leaf, nettle, seaweed and chlorella. All these plants have proven their healing powers over the centuries, are rich in minerals and other wonderful supporting substances, shine on Dutch soil and in the water, and have certainly been enjoyed by Mr. Pooh.

The Weed Power biscuit is perfect for giving as a treat to your canine friend and certainly as part of a plant-based diet. Make serving it a party, because this biscuit really is a feast. Give it on a special day, as part of a mineral boost, a few times a month, or as a snack on the go. Especially good for the grey snout. If your sweetheart can't live without it, you can of course give it every day. It is a snack that consists of nutritious and natural ingredients in addition to medicinal herbs.

All in all, a super biscuit, which has already been approved by many a dog. Do you think your canine friend will like these incredible biscuits? Click link in bio to try them for your furry friend today!

Over @tonyenlu.nl we'll go live today around noon to talk about this new concoction and you'll deff see some furry friends enjoy these weedy snacks.
