VLIER & LINDE INFUSIE
ELDER & LINDEN INFUSION
Nature is in full swing and the spring force at its peak ensures rich growth and flowering. The cold period in which the roots mainly served medicinally lies far behind us and we now can enjoy those beautiful spring blossoms and flowers.
Bushes and trees like elder and linden give sweet flowers full of pollen. The linden blossom is particularly popular with the bee population. Humans can also enjoy these blossoms, if we leave enough for the winged heroes and the bushes and trees themselves (harvest the blossom = no berry in late summer). And despite the unctuous nature of the oat drink with which this infusion is made, and the deeply sweet taste of the two blossoms, the effect of this infusion can be a strong one.
Elder and linden together are a beautiful combination to tackle a possible flu. And if you experience a hot flash after drinking, don’t worry about disrupted hormones or an early summer. It is the cleansing effect and expelling power of the herbs that you will probably experience (I am always surprised by it myself). Partly because of this, elder and linden can lower fevers and boost the immune system.
At that moment we are saying goodbye to the elderflowers and are welcoming the linden blossoms. A wonderful moment to reflect on the wonders of nature and enjoy this simple, but flowery infusion.
